Carecen casi de cola y poseen un cuerpo rechoncho, pelo de color marrón oscuro, con líneas de puntos en sus costados y, en su lomo, patas robustas, las traseras más largas que las delanteras, así como una gran cabeza cuadrada con orejas cortas.
