Scope note: Síndrome doloroso complejo de etiología desconocida, caracterizado por dolor constante o intermitente generalizado de la vulva (vulvodinia generalizada) o sensación de ardor localizado en el área vestibular cuando se aplica  presión (vestibulodinia o síndrome de vestibulitis vulvar). Normalmente, el tejido vulvar con vulvodinia tiene un aspecto normal, sin infección ni enfermedad de la piel. La  vulvodinia tiene un impacto negativo en la calidad de vida de las mujeres ya que interfiere en sus actividades diarias y sexuales.
