Scope note: Células sanguíneas de la serie blanca, que se forman en los tejidos linfoides del organismo. Poseen un núcleo redondo u ovalado con cromatina tosca e irregularmente distribuida y con un citoplasma que se tiñe de un típico color azul pálido con gránulos azurfílicos (si existen). La mayoría de los linfocitos pueden clasificarse como células T o B (con subpoblaciones dentro de cada uno de estos tipos) o CÉLULAS ASESINAS NATURALES.
