Scope note: Cualquiera de los trastornos óseos que afectan a uno o más centros de osificación (EPÍFISIS). Se caracteriza por degeneración o NECROSIS seguida de revascularización y reosificación. La osteocondrosis a menudo se presenta en niños causando diversos grados de malestar o dolor. Existen muchos epónimos en función del área específica afectada, como por ejemplo, el hueso navicular del tarso (enfermedad de Köhler) y la tuberosidad tibial (enfermedad de Osgood-Schlatter).
