Scope note: Enzimas que intervienen en la coagulación del plasma formando un complejo con la PROTROMBINA humana. Las coagulasas son producidas por ciertos STAPHYLOCOCCUS y por YERSINIA PESTIS. Los estafilococos producen dos tipos de coagulasas: la estafilocoagulasa, una coagulasa libre que produce coagulación verdadera del plasma y el factor estafilocócico de agregación, una coagulasa unida a la pared celular que induce la agregación celular en presencia de fibrinógeno.

Staphylococci produce two types of coagulase: Staphylocoagulase, a free coagulase that produces true clotting of plasma, and Staphylococcal clumping factor, a bound coagulase in the cell wall that induces clumping of cells in the presence of fibrinogen.
