Scope note: Género de trematodos hepáticos de la familia Fasciolidae. Dos especies de este género son F. hepática y F. gigantica. Los parásitos se encuentran en el hígado, la vesícula biliar y los conductos asociados en mamíferos y ocasionalmente en el hombre. F. gigantica es poco frecuente en el hombre.
