Scope note: Tumor benigno cubierto por cartílago que aparece a menudo como un pedículo sobre la superficie ósea. Probablemente es una malformación del desarrollo en lugar de una verdadera neoplasia, y suele afectar a la metáfisis de la porción distal del fémur, la porción proximal de la tibia y del húmero. El osteocondroma es el más común de los tumores óseos benignos.

Scope note: A cartilage-capped benign tumor that often appears as a stalk on the surface of bone. It is probably a developmental malformation rather than a true neoplasm and is usually found in the metaphysis of the distal femur, proximal tibia, or proximal humerus. Osteochondroma is the most common of benign bone tumors.
