Scope note: Presencia de bacterias viables circulantes en sangre. Las manifestaciones agudas comunes de la bacteriemia son fiebre, escalofríos, taquicardia y taquipnea. La mayoría de los casos se ven en pacientes ya hospitalizados, que en su mayor parte tienen enfermedades subyacentes o han sido sometidos a procedimientos que hacen que su corriente sanguínea sea susceptible a la invasión.
