Scope note: Estos factores de crecimiento son mitógenos solubles segregados por diversos órganos. Los factores son una mezcla de dos polipéptidos de cadena única que tienen afinidad por la heparina. Su peso molecular depende del órgano y de la especie. Tienen efectos mitógenos y quimiotácticos y pueden estimular las células endoteliales para crecer y sintetizar ADN. Los factores se relacionan tanto con los FACTORES DE CRECIMIENTO DE FIBROBLASTOS básicos como ácidos pero tienen diferentes secuencias de aminoácidos.

Scope note: These growth factors are soluble mitogens secreted by a variety of organs. The factors are a mixture of two single chain polypeptides which have affinity to heparin. Their molecular weight are organ and species dependent. They have mitogenic and chemotactic effects and can stimulate endothelial cells to grow and synthesize DNA. The factors are related to both the basic and acidic FIBROBLAST GROWTH FACTORS but have different amino acid sequences.
