Scope note: Protrusión y adelgazamiento no inflamatorios y, por lo general, bilaterales de la CÓRNEA, con desplazamiento del ápice hacia abajo y en sentido nasal. Se encuentra con mayor frecuencia en la mujer durante la época de la pubertad. Dos ectasias corneales no inflamatorias estrechamente relacionadas con el queratocono son la degeneración marginal pelúcida y el queratoglobo.
