Scope note: Trastorno adquirido de los vasos sanguíneos que está causado por un intenso déficit de vitamina C (ÁCIDO ASCÓRBICO) en la dieta, que determina un déficit de formación de colágeno en los vasos sanguíneos pequeños. El escorbuto se caracteriza por hemorragias en cualquier tejido, debilidad, ANEMIA, encías esponjosas e intensas induraciones en los músculos de los muslos y las piernas.
