Scope note: Volumen de ERITROCITOS empaquetados contenidos en una muestra de sangre. El volumen se mide por centrifugación en un tubo graduado o con un contador automático de células sanguíneas. Es un indicador del estado eritrocítico en una enfermedad. Por ejemplo, en la ANEMIA el valor es bajo y en la POLICITEMIA es alto.

Scope note: The volume of packed RED BLOOD CELLS in a blood specimen. The volume is measured by centrifugation in a tube with graduated markings, or with automated blood cell counters. It is an indicator of erythrocyte status in disease. For example, ANEMIA shows a low value; POLYCYTHEMIA, a high value.
