Scope note: Dímeros que se encuentran en las cadenas de ADN dañadas por RAYOS ULTRAVIOLETA. Están constituidos por dos NUCLEÓTIDOS DE PIRIMIDINA adyacentes, generalmente nucleótidos de TIMINA, en los que los residuos de pirimidina están unidos covalentemente por un anillo de ciclobutano. Estos dímeros bloquean la REPLICACIÓN DEL ADN.
