Scope note: Elastómero polimérico de gran peso molecular, derivado del jugo lechoso (LÁTEX) de HEVEA brasiliensis y de otros árboles y plantas. Es una sustancia que puede estirarse a temperatura ambiente al menos hasta el doble de su longitud original, y tras liberarla de la tensión se retrae rápidamente y recupera sus dimensiones originales por completo.

Scope note: A high-molecular-weight polymeric elastomer derived from the milk juice (LATEX) of HEVEA brasiliensis and other trees and plants. It is a substance that can be stretched at room temperature to at least twice its original length and after releasing the stress, retract rapidly, and recover its original dimensions fully.
