Scope note: (S-(E))-3,4,5,6,8,10-Hexahydro-14,16-dihidroxi-3-metill-1H-2-benzoxaciclotetradecin-1,7(8H)-diona. Pertenece a un grupo de compuestos conocidos bajo el nombre general de lactonas del ácido resorcílico. Se han aislado las formas cis, trans, dextro y levo del hongo Gibberella zeae (antiguamente Fusarium graminearum). Tienen actividad estrogénica, causan toxicidad en el ganado como contaminante de los alimentos y se han utilizado como sustitutos anabólicos o estrogénicos.
