Scope note: Proteína específica de las plaquetas que es liberada cuando éstas se agregan. Se han descrito concentraciones elevadas en plasma después de la trombosis venosa profunda, pre-eclampsia, infarto de miocardio con trombosis mural y trastornos mieloproliferativos. Se utiliza la determinación de la beta tromboglobulina en los líquidos biológicos mediante radioinmunoensayo para el diagnóstico y evaluación del progreso de los trastornos tromboembólicos.

Scope note: A platelet-specific protein which is released when platelets aggregate. Elevated plasma levels have been reported after deep venous thrombosis, pre-eclampsia, myocardial infarction with mural thrombosis, and myeloproliferative disorders. Measurement of beta-thromboglobulin in biological fluids by radioimmunoassay is used for the diagnosis and assessment of progress of thromboembolic disorders.
