Scope note: Forma clásica de tifus, causada por RICKETTSIA PROWAZEKII, que se transmite de hombre a hombre por el piojo Pediculus humanus corporis. Esta enfermedad se caracteriza por su comienzo súbito con cefalea intensa, malestar general y mialgias generalizadas, seguidas por la formación de una erupción cutánea macular y trastornos vasculares y neurológicos.
