Scope note: Uno de los tres grupos principales de los péptidos opioides endógenos. Son grandes péptidos derivados del precursor PRO-OPIOMELANOCORTINA. Los miembros conocidos de este grupo son la alfa, beta y gamma endorfina. El término endorfina se utilizan también en ocasiones para referirse a todos los péptidos opioides, pero se utiliza aquí el sentido más restringido; se utiliza la denominación de PÉPTIDOS OPIOIDES para el grupo más amplio.

Scope note: One of the three major groups of endogenous opioid peptides. They are large peptides derived from the PRO-OPIOMELANOCORTIN precursor. The known members of this group are alpha-, beta-, and gamma-endorphin. The term endorphin is also sometimes used to refer to all opioid peptides, but the narrower sense is used here; OPIOID PEPTIDES is used for the broader group.
