Scope note: Presencia de enfermedades coexistentes o adicionales en relación con un diagnóstico inicial o respecto de una condición índice que es el objeto de estudio. La comorbilidad puede influir en la capacidad funcional de los individuos afectados y, también, en su supervivencia. Puede utilizarse como indicador pronóstico de la duración de la hospitalización, de los costes y del desenlace clínico o la supervivencia.
