Scope note: Una ilusión de movimiento, bien del mundo externo que se mueve alrededor del individuo o del individuo que se mueve en el espacio. El vértigo puede estar asociado con enfermedades del oído interno (LABERINTO), NERVIO VESTIBULAR, TRONCO ENCEFÁLICO o CORTEZA CEREBRAL. Las lesiones en el LÓBULO TEMPORAL y en el LÓBULO PARIETAL pueden asociarse con CONVULSIONES FOCALES que pueden ocasionar vértigos como manifestaciones ictales. Vertigo may be associated with disorders of the inner ear (EAR, INNER); VESTIBULAR NERVE; BRAINSTEM; or CEREBRAL CORTEX. Lesions in the TEMPORAL LOBE and PARIETAL LOBE may be associated with FOCAL SEIZURES that may feature vertigo as an ictal manifestation. (From Adams et al., Principles of Neurology, 6th ed, pp300-1)
