Scope note: Familia de proteínas endógenas que pertenecen a la superfamilia de la serpina que neutraliza la acción de la trombina. Se han identificado seis antitrombinas naturales, a las que se ha designado con números romanos del I al VI. Las que mayor importancia parecen tener son la antitrombina I (ver FIBRINA) y ANTITROMBINA III.
