Scope note: Movimientos involuntarios, forzosos, rápidos y convulsivos que pueden ser sutiles o hacerse confluentes, y que de modo acusado alternan con patrones de movimiento normales. Con frecuencia se asocian con hipotonía y reflejos pendulares. Las afecciones que se caracterizan por episodios recurrentes o persistentes de corea como manifestación fundamental se conocen como TRASTORNOS COREICOS. La corea también es manifestación frecuente de las ENFERMEDADES DE LOS GANGLIOS BASALES.
