Descriptor Yin-Yang

Scope note: Yin and Yang Theory is a principle of polarity, which contains the truth that through its different manifestations the universe and everything that is included in it is generated. They constitute dynamic principles, contrary to each other and complementary and, according to traditional Chinese medicine, they need to be in balance to maintain the health of the body and mind. Yin is the feminine principle, night, moon, passivity, absorption and negative polarity; and yang is the masculine principle, day, sun, light, activity and positive polarity.
