Scope note: Síndrome que se caracteriza por episodios diarios de dolor periorbitario intenso que recurren en un período de 6-12 semanas, que pueden ir seguidos de un período de remisión de meses a años. El dolor no es pulsátil, tiene una duración de 30-60 minutos y tiende a ocurrir durante la noche o en intervalos regulares durante el día. Las cefaleas se acompañan frecuentemente de rinorrea unilateral, inyección conjuntival, lagrimeo, enrojecimiento facial y miosis, que afecta principalmente a hombres adultos jóvenes. Scope note: A primary headache disorder that is characterized by severe, strictly unilateral PAIN which is orbital, supraorbital, temporal or in any combination of these sites, lasting 15-180 min. occurring 1 to 8 times a day. The attacks are associated with one or more of the following, all of which are ipsilateral: conjunctival injection, lacrimation, nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, facial SWEATING, eyelid EDEMA, and miosis.
