Scope note: Familia de proteínas fijadoras de calcio y de fosfolípidos relacionadas estrcuturalmente. Exhiben reactividad inmunológica cruzada. Cada miembro contiene cuatro repeticiones hemólogas de 70 kDa. Las anexinas se distribuyen de modo diferencial en los tejidos vertebrados (y eucariotas inferiores) y parecen estar implicados en la FUSIÓN DE MEMBRANAS y en la TRANSDUCCIÓN DE SEÑALES.

Scope note: Family of calcium- and phospholipid-binding proteins which are structurally related and exhibit immunological cross-reactivity. Each member contains four homologous 70-kDa repeats. The annexins are differentially distributed in vertebrate tissues (and lower eukaryotes) and appear to be involved in MEMBRANE FUSION and SIGNAL TRANSDUCTION.
