Se consideran fuentes de radiación los reactores nucleares, los aceleradores de partículas cargadas de electricidad, las bombas de cobalto, los aparatos de microondas, de radar y de rayos X, infrarrojos, ultravioletas y láser, así como los isótopos radiactivos y cualquier otra fuente análoga.
