Scope note:	Familia de plantas del orden Myricales, subclase Hamamelidae, clase Magnoliopsida. Se presentan en forma de árboles o arbustos provistos de hojas aromáticas que a menudo poseen en su superficie un moteado glandular amarillo. Los frutos, con una sola semilla, suelen estar cubiertos de gránulos, protuberancias o capas de cera. Tienen flores pequeñas, verdosas y poco llamativas.

Scope note:

A plant family of the order Myricales, subclass Hamamelidae, class Magnoliopsida. They are trees and shrubs having aromatic leaves that often have yellow glandular dots on the surface. Single-seeded fruits are often covered with waxy granules, bumps, or layers. The flowers are small, greenish, and inconspicuous.
