Scope note: Trastorno que es consecuencia de malformaciones congénitas que afectan al encéfalo. En el síndrome de displasia septoóptica se combina hipoplasia o agenesia del SEPTUM PELLUCIDUM, del CUERPO CALLOSO y del NERVIO ÓPTICO. La extensión de las anomalías puede variar. La displasia septoóptica se asocia con frecuencia a anomalías de las estructuras del HIPOTÁLAMO y de otras estructuras del diencéfalo y a HIPOPITUITARISMO.

Scope note: A condition resulting from congenital malformations involving the brain. The syndrome of septo-optic dysplasia combines hypoplasia or agenesis of the SEPTUM PELLUCIDUM; CORPUS CALLOSUM and the OPTIC NERVE. The extent of the abnormalities can vary. Septo-optic dysplasia is often associated with abnormalities of the HYPOTHALAMUS and other diencephalic structures, and HYPOPITUITARISM.
