Scope note:	Género de plantas de la familia RUTACEAE. Algunos miembros del género Zanthoxylum han sido reclasificados, procedentes de ELEUTHEROCOCCUS, Melicope y EVODIA. Las ramitas se utilizan para el CEPILLADO DENTAL. La mayoría de las plantas denominadas Fagara han sido reclasificadas como Zanthoxylum, aunque algunas Fagara han sido reclasificadas en MELICOPE (también en la familia RUTACEAE) o como GLEDITSIA (género de la familia FABACEAE).

Scope note:

A plant genus of the family RUTACEAE. Some members of Zanthoxylum are reclassified from ELEUTHEROCOCCUS, Melicope, and EVODIA. The twigs are used as dental brushing sticks (TOOTHBRUSHING). Most plants that are called Fagara have been reclassified as Zanthoxylum, however some Fagara were reclassified to MELICOPE (also in the Rutacea family) or to GLEDITSIA (a genus in the FABACEAE family).
