Scope note: Trastorno mental orgánico adquirido, con pérdida de la capacidad intelectual que tiene la suficiente gravedad como para interferir en el funcionamiento social u ocupacional. La disfunción es multifacética y afecta a la memoria, conducta, personalidad, juicio, atención, relaciones espaciales, lenguaje, pensamiento abstracto, y otras funciones ejecutivas. La decadencia intelectual suele ser progresiva, e inicialmente se conserva el nivel de conciencia.

Scope note: An acquired organic mental disorder with loss of intellectual abilities of sufficient severity to interfere with social or occupational functioning. The dysfunction is multifaceted and involves memory, behavior, personality, judgment, attention, spatial relations, language, abstract thought, and other executive functions. The intellectual decline is usually progressive, and initially spares the level of consciousness.
