Descriptor Spanish: Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae
Descriptor Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae

Tree number(s): B03.440.860.580.553.553.420
RDF Unique Identifier: https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D045705
Scope note: A species of gram-negative bacteria that causes MYCOPLASMA PNEUMONIA OF SWINE. The organism damages the CILIA in the airways of the pig, and thus compromises one of the most effective mechanical barriers against invading pathogens. The resulting weakening of the IMMUNE SYSTEM can encourage secondary infections, leading to porcine respiratory disease complex.
