Se debe diferenciar de la FARMACORRESISTENCIA, en la que el organismo, la enfermedad o un tejido no responden en la adecuada medida a la sustancia química o al fármaco. Debe diferenciarse también de la DOSIS MÁXIMA TOLERADA y de la DOSIS SIN EFECTOS ADVERSOS OBSERVADOS.
