Scope note: Agente antituberculoso que inhibe la transferencia de ácidos micólicos a la pared celular del bacilo de la tuberculosis. También puede inhibir la síntesis de la espermidina en las micobacterias. Generalmente su acción es bactericida y el ffármaco puede atravesar las membranas de las células humanas para ejercer su efecto letal. (Smith and Reynard, Textbook of Pharmacology, 1992, p863).

Scope note: An antitubercular agent that inhibits the transfer of mycolic acids into the cell wall of the tubercle bacillus. It may also inhibit the synthesis of spermidine in mycobacteria. The action is usually bactericidal, and the drug can penetrate human cell membranes to exert its lethal effect. (From Smith and Reynard, Textbook of Pharmacology, 1992, p863)
