Scope note: Inhibidor endógeno de la serina-proteasa (SERPINAS). Es una glicoproteína plasmática de 105 kDa, codificada por el gen C1NH y producida principalmente por el hígado y los monocitos. Inhibe una amplia gama de proteasas, como las del COMPLEMENTO C1R yl COMPLEMENTO C1S de la VÍA CLÁSICA DEL COMPLEMENTO, y las SERINA-PROTEASAS ASOCIADAS A LA PROTEÍNA DE UNIÓN A LA MANOSA. Los individuos con déficit de C1-INH sufren ANGIOEDEMA HEREDITARIO.

Scope note: An endogenous 105-kDa plasma glycoprotein produced primarily by the LIVER and MONOCYTES. It inhibits a broad spectrum of proteases, including the COMPLEMENT C1R and the COMPLEMENT C1S proteases of the CLASSICAL COMPLEMENT PATHWAY, and the MANNOSE-BINDING PROTEIN-ASSOCIATED SERINE PROTEASES. C1-INH-deficient individuals suffer from HEREDITARY ANGIOEDEMA TYPES I AND II.
