Scope note: Derivado del TELENCÉFALO, el cerebro está constituido por los hemisferios derecho e izquierdo. Ambos hemisferios constan de una capa externa, la corteza cerebral, y ganglios basales subcorticales. El cerebro hemisférico comprende todas las partes del sistema nervioso contenidas en el cráneo, excepto el BULBO RAQUÍDEO, el PUENTE y el CEREBELO. Son funciones cerebrales superiores las actividades sensitivomotoras, emocionales e intelectuales.
