Scope note: Malformación congénita poco frecuente en la cual el corazón tiene una localización parcialmente anómala o está situado totalmente fuera del TÓRAX. Se produce a consecuencia de una defectuosa fusión de la pared torácica anterior. Según la localización del corazón, la ectopia cordis puede ser torácica, toracoabdominal, abdominal o cervical.

Scope note: A rare developmental defect in which the heart is abnormally located partially or totally outside the THORAX. It is the result of defective fusion of the anterior chest wall. Depending on the location of the heart, ectopia cordis can be thoracic, thoracoabdominal, abdominal, and cervical.
