Scope note: Deslizamientos súbitos sobre una falla geológica, y el temblor de tierra y la energía sísmica radiada resultantes causados por los deslizamientos, o por actividad volcánica o magmática, u otros cambios súbitos por estrés en la tierra. Las fallas son fracturas a lo largo de las cuales los bloques de la corteza terrestre a cada lado se han desplazado uno respecto del otro en paralelo a la fractura.

Scope note: Sudden slips on a geological fault, and the resulting ground shaking and radiated seismic energy caused by the slips, or by volcanic or magmatic activity, or other sudden stress changes in the earth. Faults are fractures along which the blocks of EARTH crust on either side have moved relative to one another parallel to the fracture.
