Scope note: Ubiquitinligasa E3 que primordialmente está involucrada en la regulación de la transición de metafase a anafase durante la MITOSIS, merced a la ubiquitinación de PROTEÍNAS DEL CICLO CELULAR específicas. La actividad de esta enzima está estrechamente regulada por subunidades y cofactores que modulan la activación, la inhibición y la especificidad del sustrato. El complejo promotor de anafase, o APC-C, también está involucrado en la diferenciación tisular de la PLACENTA, el CRISTALINO y la MUSCULATURA ESQUELÉTICA, así como en la regulación de la excitabilidad y la PLASTICIDAD NEURONAL postmitótica.
