Scope note:	Sistema vascular de eliminación de residuos en el encéfalo similar al sistema linfático que facilita el transporte de solutos y productos de desecho desde el LÍQUIDO CEFALORRAQUÍDEO (LCR) y el LÍQUIDO EXTRACELULAR (LEC) encefálico. El LCR procedente del ESPACIO SUBARACNOIDEO entra en los espacios periarteriales encefálicos hasta el intersticio a través de canales (p. ej., ACUAPORINA 4) localizados en los pies terminales de los astrocitos y se intercambia por LEC encefálico antes del drenaje perivenoso de solutos y residuos.

Scope note:

A vascular waste clearance system in the brain analogous to the lymphatic system that facilitates transporting of solutes and waste products from CEREBROSPINAL FLUID (CSF) and brain INTERSTITIAL FLUID (ISF). CSF from the SUBARACHNOID SPACE enters the brain periarterial spaces, into the interstitium via channels (e.g., AQUAPORIN 4 PROTEIN) on astrocytic endfeet and exchanges with brain ISF before perivenous drainage of solutes and waste.
