Descriptor English: Gram-Negative Aerobic Bacteria
Descriptor Spanish: Bacterias Aerobias Gramnegativas
Descriptor bacterias aerobias gramnegativas
Entry term(s) Achromatiaceae
Achromatium
Achromobacteriaceae
Entry term(s): Achromatiaceae
Achromatium
Achromobacteriaceae
Gram Negative Aerobic Bacteria
Tree number(s): B03.440.400
RDF Unique Identifier: https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D006088
Scope note: A large group of aerobic bacteria which show up as pink (negative) when treated by the gram-staining method. This is because the cell walls of gram-negative bacteria are low in peptidoglycan and thus have low affinity for violet stain and high affinity for the pink dye safranine.
Annotation: general or unspecified; prefer specifics; do not use as a routine coordinate for a gram-negative aerobic bacterium; infection: coordinate with GRAM-NEGATIVE BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
