Scope note:	Anomalía de la refracción en la que los rayos de luz paralelos al eje óptico que penetran en el ojo son enfocados por detrás de la retina, porque la distancia entre la parte anterior y posterior del globo ocular es demasiado pequeña. Se denomina también vista larga (porque el punto próximo se encuentra situado a mayor distancia que en la emetropía para una misma amplitud de acomodación) e hipermetropía. (Dorland, 27 ed)

Scope note:

A refractive error in which rays of light entering the eye parallel to the optic axis are brought to a focus behind the retina, as a result of the eyeball being too short from front to back. It is also called farsightedness because the near point is more distant than it is in emmetropia with an equal amplitude of accommodation. (Dorland, 27th ed)
