Nota de alcance: Hipersensibilidad a productos de caucho natural procesado que contienen látex, como los guantes de goma, condones, catéteres, diques dentales, balones, y equipos deportivos. Pueden producirse respuestas alérgicas mediadas por las células T (HIPERSENSIBILIDAD RETARDADA) y mediadas por los anticuerpos IgE (HIPERSENSIBILIDAD INMEDIATA). La hipersensibilidad retardada se produce por la exposición a antioxidantes que están presentes en el caucho, la hipersensibilidad inmediata se produce por la exposición a una proteína del látex.

Nota de alcance: Allergic reaction to products containing processed natural rubber latex such as rubber gloves, condoms, catheters, dental dams, balloons, and sporting equipment. Both T-cell mediated (HYPERSENSITIVITY, DELAYED) and IgE antibody-mediated (HYPERSENSITIVITY, IMMEDIATE) allergic responses are possible. Delayed hypersensitivity results from exposure to antioxidants present in the rubber; immediate hypersensitivity results from exposure to a latex protein.
