Nota de alcance: Presencia de un incremento en la cantidad de sangre en una parte del cuerpo o en un órgano, que provoca congestión y encharcamiento de los vasos sanguíneos. Puede deberse a un incremento del flujo de sangre en determinada area (activa o arterial) o a una obstrucción del drenaje sanguíneo de dicha area (pasiva o venosa).
