Note d'application: Uno de los tres grupos principales de los péptidos opioides endógenos. Son grandes péptidos derivados del precursor PRO-OPIOMELANOCORTINA. Los miembros conocidos de este grupo son la alfa, beta y gamma endorfina. El término endorfina se utilizan también en ocasiones para referirse a todos los péptidos opioides, pero se utiliza aquí el sentido más restringido; se utiliza la denominación de PÉPTIDOS OPIOIDES para el grupo más amplio.
