También es conocido como "pequeño cerebro", por poseer circunvoluciones similares a las de la CORTEZA CEREBRAL, sustancia blanca interna y núcleos cerebelosos en la profundidad. Su función es coordinar los movimientos voluntarios, mantener el equilibrio y la adquisición de habilidades motoras.
