Nota de escopo: Familia de trematodos (TREMATODO) que suelen tener menos de 10 mm de longitud, aunque algunos sólo tienen 1 o 2 mm de largo. En general son gruesos, espinosos o escamosos, tienen un contorno oval y viven en diversos órganos y senos de pájaros y mamíferos. El género de mayor interés es el PARAGONIMUS.
