Nota de escopo: Tejido blando que llena las cavidades de los huesos. Hay dos tipos de médula ósea, la amarilla y la roja. La médula amarilla se encuentra en las cavidades grandes de los huesos largos y está constituida fundamentalmente por adipocitos y escasas células sanguíneas primitivas. La médula roja es un tejido hematopoyético y el sitio de producción de los eritrocitos y granulocitos. La médula ósea está constituida por una red de tejido conjuntivo que contiene fibras en forma de malla, ocupada por las células medulares hematopoyéticas.

Nota de escopo: The soft tissue filling the cavities of bones. Bone marrow exists in two types, yellow and red. Yellow marrow is found in the large cavities of large bones and consists mostly of fat cells and a few primitive blood cells. Red marrow is a hematopoietic tissue and is the site of production of erythrocytes and granular leukocytes. Bone marrow is made up of a framework of connective tissue containing branching fibers with the frame being filled with marrow cells.
