Basado en las características patológicas de las células observadas más que en los hallazgos clínicos, esta enfermedad se subdivide en tres grupos: HISTIOCITOSIS DE CÉLULAS DE LANGERHANS; HISTIOCITOSIS DE CÉLULAS NO LANGERHANS; y TRASTORNOS HISTIOCÍTICOS MALIGNOS.
