Scope note: Género de nematodos parásitos de la superfamilia METASTRONGYLOIDEA. Dos especies, ANGIOSTRONGYLUS CANTONENSIS y A. vasorum, infestan los pulmones de ratas y perros, respectivamente. A. cantonensis es transmisible al hombre en donde produce con frecuencia infección fatal del sistema nervioso central.
