Offline or API-based DeCS data use
DeCS thesaurus descriptors can be consulted on this portal and on consultation platforms where DeCS is integrated, such as the FI-Admin system used for indexing LILACS documents.
DeCS data has been offered offline since 2016 and, starting in 2023, also through API services. In both cases, a simple licensing process is required to use the data. Usage licenses can be institutional or individual. Thus, DeCS data is made available to licensees in two ways:
- DeCS English
- DeCS French
- DeCS Portuguese
- DeCS Spanish
- Hierarchical search
- Word search
- Word search with boolean operators
In the first half of 2025, licensing requests included those from 9 different countries, as shown in the chart below.
The form currently available to DeCS license applicants offers usage options and a field for free input. The purposes are distributed, as shown in the image below, in percentages of the granted licenses.
